Can an A22 Display (TFT Screen) be used in a 14.1" T21?

T2x/T3x series specific matters only

Can an A22 Display (TFT Screen) be used in a 14.1" T21?

#1 Post by Robbyrobot » Wed Jul 25, 2007 3:49 am

I am playing with the idea of replacing a slightly damaged 14.1" T21 screen (some light spots), and would like to know if I can use an alternative 14.1" screen from one of the other Thinkpad series - only the screen itself, not the inverter, cable or housing. Although I naturally would also be happy to use a complete display if the mechanical attachments and electrical connections are compatible.

The A22 seems to be a possibility... can anyone comment, or possibly suggest other options?

Incidentally, the reason for the question is that good/used 14.1" T2x screens are often rather hard to find and/or expensive and it would be useful to have alternatives.

You should be able to. To date, I've found that the 390X, T2x, A2x, A3x all use the same connector for the 14" XGA screen.
ThinkPad T60: 2GHZ CD T2500, 3gb RAM, 14.1" XGA, 60gb 7k100, Win 7 Ult
Latitude E7250: i5 5300U 2.3ghz, 12gb RAM, 12" 1080p touch, 256gb SSD, Win 10

Good news... many thanks for the feedback!
