SL53T -900Mhz

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0121238280

no clue for the 1Ghz, i decided to keep at 900 because most 1Ghz CPU's were running a 133 buss and the T20 needs 100Mhz bus

Thanks for the link, it lead to many other that never came up when I searched. I found several posts but no answers to this question, will the t23 processor work in the t20? Even though its a faster processor will it scale back and run at 1MHZ?
Thanks Again
John

No, it won't. The problem is, the T20,21 and 22 use a 100MHz front-side bus, while the T23 uses 133MHz.
The best you can go with in a T20-22 is a 1GHz, with 100MHz FSB:
SL5TF 1 GHz N/A N/A 100 MHz 0.18 micron PD0 256 KB Micro-PGA2
SL58S 1 GHz N/A N/A 100 MHz 0.18 micron PD0 256 KB 495 pin
SL53S 1 GHz N/A N/A 100 MHz 0.18 micron PD0 256 KB 495 pin

T20 - 1GHz (SL5TF), 512MB, 80GB, Intel Pro100/Agere combo miniPCI
365X - 100MHz, 72MB, 12GB
710T - 25MHz, 4MB, 60MB

Timoti is correct, the SL53S is the highest that you can go. The T20 will not even boot if you tried the T23 processors.

SL53S 1 GHz N/A N/A 100 MHz 0.18 micron PD0 256 KB 495 pin
Do I understand you correctly that the Micro-PGA2 and the 495 pin forms are interchangeable in the T20-22 models? Up to now, I had assumed only the Micro-PGA2 form could be used in them.

Well, before my 1GHz SL5TF (and after the stock 700MHz SL3Z8) I did use a SL4GT, which is listed as 495pin and it worked just fine.

Wont the SL5QV will also work in the T20? Do the processors above need any type of adapter or is it a direct replacement?
Thanks
John

A quick check of Ebay shows there are no listings for the
SL5TF 1 GHz N/A N/A 100 MHz 0.18 micron PD0 256 KB Micro-PGA2 or
SL58S 1 GHz N/A N/A 100 MHz 0.18 micron PD0 256 KB 495 pin,
several listings for the SL5QV though way cheaper than for the SL53S
Thanks
John

The SL5QV is a desktop processor in FC-PGA package:
http://processorfinder.intel.com/Detail ... v&OrdCode=

It has a 100MHz bus and everything, but it just won't fit in a Thinkpad T2x. As far as i know Olivetti did in fact manufacture notebooks using desktop processors, but that's a rare perversion.

The processors i mentioned don't need any adapter, just drop them in the socket and it's all fun and games.

Thanks for the speedy response, I saw in another post/thread that the SL5QV could be used. Good thing I didnt get it.
