"Code 10" problem with Intel Wlan card and Thinkpa
My Thinkpad is version 2647-8MG, it is without wireless lan, and now I have bought a new Intel 2915abg Pro/wireless mini-pci card and antenna (wlan card have the IBM serial and fru numbers)
Everything went fine, but after driver installation, Windows xp throw a yellow exclamation mark on system management and display a message: "Code 10, device not started".
Can the wlan card be broken or is the issue with Thinkpad?

Welcome to our forums.
I have the same card (but without IBM numbers, i.e. a 'wild' one) in my T23, and it installed without any problems.
Like you, I built the antennas and card in a non-WiFi equipped T23.
I used the latest drivers from the Intel website, did you try those?

Then NON-IBM Intel cards such as my 2915abg and the 2200bg work fine. Same goes for the Broadcom model that rkawakami uses in most of his T23's.
If you don't do regular laptop-to-PC transfers, any standard 802.11b card will do fine, provided it has the matching WEP/WPA security for your WAP/router.
PS: it would be handy for future questions if you put your laptop model and type in your signature (like in mine)
