My T21 is now giving me Error 0175. I'd left it alone for about two weeks prior, as my power adapter is sort of dying (the connector is busted, I have to wiggle it around lots to make it work properly)
So, is my T21 dead? I've already tried taking the CMOS battery out, and that didn't help anything. I don't want to see it die like this, and it's my first ThinkPad. I also haven't the money for another, or a mobo replacement as Lenovo Support documentation suggests.
In case worse comes to worse, and I have to sell it for parts, this is the basic rundown of my system:
ThinkPad T21 2647-9AU
850 MHz PIII
256MB RAM (2x128MB, upgraded from stock)
DVD-ROM
32GB HDD
SXGA+ LCD
Some scratches, cracks on LCD bezel/top case, regular scuffing, a few pressure marks on the screen from being thrown in a backpack with other books.
In the event that I have to sell it, what's the approx. price?
HELP! Err 0175 on my T21
The fastest cure for crc1/0175 T2x series is a new motherboard.
I'm thinking of unsoldering the EEPROM from a "BoD" T22 and putting it in my 0175 T21, but never got the time. Some shops do offer this repair service, but as i've seen the prices are about the price of a working mobo. And none of them are in my area (East Europe).

Common sense to some of us is unfortunately the higher education others strive to attain.
Yup, the mentioned guy charges 45 bucks for the interface diagram and the new flash contents alone. And you have to purchase parts and build the Atmel EEPROM programming interface yourself. You can buy a working used mobo in Hungary for that.
If i have some freetime i'll try to build a programmer for the Atmel EEPROM myself and read the contents of my known good T22 with that. If it works, i'll post it for free, but don't hold your breath...
