Question about T20 and WinXP

#1 Post by FIRSTJONTAR » Mon Sep 24, 2007 10:30 am

When I go to the "System" Icon in Control Panel, it says that my operating speed is 524MHz... not the 700MHz my bios says that I have. Is this the step-speed technology and it is showing the base speed?

If you are running on battery, the processor will slow down to conserve energy. Try checking again when you are plugged in.

It is the speedstep doing it. Speedstep is trying to conserver energy.
I think you need a fully charged battery and AC power to get full speed, and you will need an application that demands full speed from your processor. It is running slower because that is all that speedstep thinks it needs.
