Hi,
Just bought a T23 machine with dead LCD.
Connected to external monitor all is OK.
Seems like there is no power to the LCD screen. Also the backlight is dead. Changed the LCD & Cable already for a known working one, no joy.
Note there is NO DIM display, the LCD is always black.
Suspect failing power on the mainboard (as the display and the backlight is dead), which is switched by the grapics chip to the LCD/Backlight inverter.
Any one solved this problem before?
Any one got a datasheet of the SuperSavage chip?
Thanks, Msmax
T23: Looking For SuperSavage datasheet
You didn't mention whether or not you replaced the inverter? I'd 'think' that even if the inverter were defective you'd still see a dim display if you held a bright light up to it. For a totally dead screen, if it's not the cable or LCD I'd say the system board is defective, most likely as you suspect a problem with the signals emanating from the GPU.
