Battery discharge utility

Hi all

Sorry to bother you all with this but I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find it.

A few years ago on one of my old laptops (IIRC a 760) there was a
handy little utility that would let you completely discharge the
battery and then re-charge it for you, all while the m/c was doing something mundane like defraging etc.

This is for a T22.

Anybody know the programe and if it's still available somewhere?

The utility is called "Fuel-Gauge" and it was used to refresh a NiMh from the memory effect.

I didn't know there was a battery utility for the T2x series, but I did see the Batcheck.exe file on the Lenovo website yesterday. I think that one is specifically for the 600 series, but I'm not sure.

I would link to it, but the Lenovo site is being updated or something. Most of the Drivers/Downloads section isn't responding right now.

Do you have battery Maximiser installed on your T22?

Yes I do, but that doesn't do what I want.

I think phool@round is on the right track with the Fuel Gauge, have to wait until Lenova are back up.

I have Fuel gauge on my 600, but haven't discovered a way to have it recondition my battery while the computer is "idle".

Pointers would be great!

What I have been using to discharge a T2x battery is a utility supplied by PC Doctor for DOS. There is a "battery rundown" routine which executes various tests (CPU, systemboard, memory, disk(s), etc.), at the same time measuring the length of time it has run. While this is not quite what you have described, it is an automatic and safe way to run the battery down without having to sit by the system to see when it finally shuts down. Why? The next time you start PC Doctor you can see how long the previous rundown test lasted.

I remember when gateway used to ship a charger and a discharger with their laptops.
