Temperature utility
Ok, I've used the search function, manually looked through stickies and FAQs in a few forums and couldn't find anything on this, even though I see a bunch of people posting about thier CPU temps.
Where could I find a utility that will let me monitor my temps and even fan speed, or other things that might be of use?
I tried downloading one from PC World but it didn't show any IBM support in the set-up phase, so I couldn't continue for there.
BTW I have T30.

For CPU temps I use MobileMeter. Available from here:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Sys ... eter.shtml
It does not have any fan speed monitoring or control. Besides the CPU temp, it also can display the power being used, the disk drive temp (if it supports that function), CPU frequency and battery information (again, if it supports that).

Ok, how are you supposed to download from that site?
Would it be too much to just have a direct link to download the software? I keep going in circles trying to down load it.
I can view my "download basket", I can click on "download now", but I just get sent back the first page that you linked to, that tells me about the utility.
I just noticed where it says something about needing a bitorrent client. I don't want to install something I'll only use once, as I'm not that into using file sharing programs, after the last few experiances I've had with them. (Viruses)

Ok, I keep seeing mention of TP Fanutility, which seems to be the answer I am looking for, to a complete solution, that would seem to also allow me to control fan speed.
Where can I find this? I've tried the serch and I either get very few or no results that are not relavant or thousands of results that I can imagine are also not relevant.
My fan never seems to come up to a full speed and wouldn't really mind it to come on higher or more often to get the CPU temps down a bit.
*EDIT*
I believe I have found the utility that I see mentioned HERE.
It looks as though it has not been tested on a T30 yet. Maybe I'll use my T30 as the test bed.

If you check your download catalog (in FireFox you'll find it in tools-options-main) the site puts the file there...Ok, how are you supposed to download from that site?

Hmm... normally you would click on the big, red "DOWNLOAD" button and then choose from a download site. This does not appear to be working for me here at work. Don't know if our corporate firewall is messing this up or Softpedia has changed.Six_Shooter wrote:Ok, how are you supposed to download from that site?
In either event, you can go here:
http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValle ... mm0310.zip
(the home page is: http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Oakland/8259/)
and download the MobileMeter .ZIP file.
