T21 running XP - installing DVD Express

#1 Post by g8tzl » Thu Nov 01, 2007 4:23 pm

I have recently acquired a T21 P3 256MB RAM with XP Pro installed.

The T21 also has a DVD ROM but no DVD decoder.

I have checked the archives/IBM site and understand that T21's normally use Mediamatics DVD Express.

I am looking for advice from somebody who has installed DVD Express on a T21 running XP.

I have found 3 possible download alternatives from the archives although none were for a T21 running XP:

- Version supplied with 770 series
- Compaq version for either ME or Win 2K
- Roverbook SoftDVD version.

The standard proceedure is then to install a DVD Express update from the IBM site.

I am looking for advice on which of the above alternatives is best for the T21 running XP (if any) and whether you need to install any other drivers etc.

Thanks

Thanks Harryc

Does the Compaq version (which is designed for Win 2000) work OK on XP? Or does the IBM Update make it XP compatible?

Thanks

Use the update for complete compatibility.
