Reconditioning?

#1 Post by flashstar » Thu Nov 01, 2007 6:13 pm

I apologize for posting so much, but I have a problem with a T30 battery that came with my T23 when I purchased it on Ebay. I installed battery maximizer and it says that the battery has been cycled 70 times (5 of which I have done while trying to recondition it). Also, it was made in 2003. I have tried fully draining the battery twice and both times, it appeared to lose more total wattage (down to 26 wh from 29). The battery lasts for about 1.5 hrs on regular load and 2 if I dim the lcd to half brightness and use only word. What do you think is wrong with it and is reconditioning a lost cause?

Thanks.

If you need more battery time get a new one or get an Ultrabay battery to add to it. It is common for new/er old stock batteries to lose capacity quickly. For a battery that age the amount of cycles is irrelevant. I'd be happy to get 2 hours out of that one.

Would a used ultrabay battery be better than getting a new regular battery? I am finding used ultrabay batteries on Ebay for $20 shipped and I'm curious as to how much life you could get out of one on average.

This thread talks about T23 run time with an ultrabay battery. I'm sure there are plenty more to be found with a forum search of "t23 ultrabay battery".
