I have downloaded DVDExpress and applied the IBM update and it works OK for playing DVD's on my T21.
I am aware that Windows Media Player does not have any DVD codecs installed by default and these need to be extracted from a 3rd party source - such as DVDExpress.
I thought that WMP would automatically find the DVD codecs once DVDExpress was installed - but I still can't play DVD's using WMP.
Anybody know what I need to do to get WMP to play DVD's hopefully using the already installed DVDExpress?
Thanks

You could download the All-in-One Codec pack here:
http://filehippo.com/download_codec_pack/
or get the free GOM-Player that has all the codecs built-in
http://www.gomplayer.com/download.html
That way you can bypass WMP, and it's much, much leaner than WMP.
or get many people's favorite VLC Player
http://filehippo.com/download_vlc/
and also bypass WMP.

I guess what I want to find out is how to use the codecs from DVDExpress on WMP.
I can already play DVD's on my T21 after downloading DVDExpress which was the actual DVD player originally installed in all T21's. DVDExpress works OK but I want to find out why WMP still does not play DVD's - all I get is a purple screen.
I can play DVD's in my T30 using both WMP and the build in DVD Player (InterVideo , I think).
I read somewhere that WMP will access the DVD codecs from any 3rd party DVD software installed. So, having already installed DVDEXpress , I'm wondering what I need to do now to actually watch DVD's using WMP?

Check in WMP which codecs are missing, then get the all-in-one.
