Differences between a T23-2648 AND a T23-2647

#1 Post by gard » Thu Dec 06, 2007 12:28 pm

Could someone explain me why in the T23-2648 they are usually a 1.0G processor and in the T23-2647 we find easily and always the 1,13 G processors.

We know that the 2648 series have a more upgradable motherboard than 2647 series.

Can i replace in my 2648 model, without any risk, the 1.0G processor with a 1.13G one?

Thank you.

Welcome to our forums.
There is no physical difference between a Type 2647 and a Type 2648 Thinkpad T23.
There was however a difference between the warranties given on a 2647 (standard warranties) and 2648 (extended warranties) when they were originally sold.
The important number is the 3-character Model after it, e.g. 2467-4MU, where the 4MU designates which motherboard, CPU, how much RAM, OS, etc. was in it when new.
On this page http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... eLenovo.do type in your own product-number (or another you want to know about) to see the original equipment it came with.

Give us your exact Type-Model (and also put it in your Signature (see mine below) and we can answer your question.
Theoretically there should not be any problem.
