T22 with lcd problems? bright black screen

Hello, I've tried looking for the answers with no success. I even tried search but lead me to dead ends. I have acquired a nice looking T22 from my job. My office manager gave it to me as a xmas gift. The problem I am having is the lcd. I turn on the laptop and seems like it works. The fan turns on, the harddrive is ticking, all lights are green, and the screen turns bright black. The lcd continues to stay black throughout the whole process. I can also hear windows starting in the background. I was not sure what it is. I've tried some suggestions with no help like taking out the memory and replacing the inverter. Any help would be appreciated.

If you removed the memory and tried to turn the system on, did you get the 1-3-3-1 beep code? That should indicate that the T22 is mostly good.

The "bright black" screen sounds like the inverter and backlight is working properly. The problem could be in motherboard, the ribbon cable going to the LCD and the LCD itself. Easiest thing to check is to make sure that the cable is properly plugged in. For that, you need to remove the keyboard. To check the opposite end of the cable, you will have to remove the LCD bezel and tilt the panel slightly out of the lid. That connector is usually taped to the plastic frame of the LCD panel. At both ends, unplug the connector and then plug it back in. While you have the LCD bezel off, take a close look at the area of the cable is it exits the base of the laptop and goes behind the inverter. As it seems like you have already removed the LCD bezel, taking the LCD out is only a couple of more screws along the side of the lid. Just be careful not to bind or tear the ribbon cable. One other thing you can try is to see if the external video port is working properly. Attach the external monitor, turn it on and then boot the system. If everything works as it should, the display should appear on the external monitor. If it doesn't, try pressing the Fn+F7 key combination (hold down the Fn key while pressing the F7 key once). There's three settings to the video mode: internal (LCD), external and both.

Thanks for the reply rkawakami. I took out the ram and it does beep 1-3-3-1. Also, ive notice that the rams I have are 256mb 256 PC133 CL3(8 chips on one side). From past experiences, usually with the wrong ram, the laptop does not turn on at all. So im guessing the ram is compatibles since it turns on. Now I will wait a little and hear a little more imputes before opening up the lcd. Thanks again

I got it fixed. Thanks to rkawakami, it was easy as a loose ribbon. I noticed it when I removed the keyboard right away. Thanks again rkawakami.
