Is T-30 a "better" laptop then T-23

#1 Post by Islandguy » Thu Dec 27, 2007 4:35 pm

Hi there!
This is my first time posting....what a great forum! I have a T-23 that I have been using for several years. Running XP pro and have 512 ram. I forgot about an old T-30 I had kicking around. I took it out and it is really a "dog". Takes forever to load. Same software as T-23 but only 256 ram. It looks like I have a bad ram slot as others have noted on this board. The T-30 is in pretty good shape other than the ram slot....is it worth getting fixed?
Thanks,
Jim

You can run that T30 with a 1GB RAM stick, that would speed up things considerably. (I run my T30 with 2x 1GB).
For around $100 you can get it fixed. You can also try the paper-trick between second RAM and RAM-cover.
Search this forum for "T30 memory".
T30 is a bit heavier, but a lot sturdier than a T23.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
