T30 11bg Wireless Ugrade
T30 11bg Wireless Ugrade
I'm new at this so if this is an old issue resurrected then I'm sorry.
The High Rate Wireless Lan Mini-PCI Adapter with combo modem in my T30, 2366 7U3 went out on me. So after reading several post here I decided to try my hand at an upgrade rather then replacing the old adapter. So, I went to the IBM site downloaded and installed the latest Bios <210> 1IET71WW for my system. I also burned a CD for the no-1802 hack as you experienced guys describe it. I then ran the CD and later installed a new IBM Wireless Atheros BG Adapter in the slot and connecting both antenna wires with the battery removed. After securing the cover and rebooting I ran into this problem. Each time I boot my system now I get this error message across my screen, Resource Conflict - PCI Network Controller in slot 01 Bus:02, Device:02, Function:00. It also references <F1>. If I remove the new adapter and reboot there is no error nessage and it boots up normally. If I install the old adapter in my system it boots up normally also. So I'm thinking there is something about the new adapter that my system doesn't like or it's something that I have overlooked. Or, maybe I'm trying to do something that isn't possible for my T30. Can any of you help me with this problem because I would like to use this new internal wireless adaptor. Thank you

Here is some more info about it: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/IBM_11b/g ... CI_Adapter
It works in some T30s, although it was not sold by IBM for a T30.
Get another Atheros card, but this time a NON-IBM version.
Or get an Intel 2200bg or 2915abg.

I just bought 2 of these Intel 2200BG cards
(e.g. eBay Item number: 260204690135) from this seller
ran the no-1802 software first, then installed card, no problems

Thanks for your response. After trying two IBM 11bg adapters in my T30 without success, I did what you did and bought the Intel 2200 bg adapter, ran the no. 1802 and here I am back in business. At first I didn't want to run the no. 1802 on my system but it is the best way to go thanks to RealBlackStuff.
I've been using the no1802 on my X31 for over 2 years with no issues with the 2200BG card. That's why I got two more for my T30s. I believe if the CMOS battery dies you will need to remove the wireless card, put a new battery in, rerun no1802 and then reinsert the wireless card and you should be good to go.
