Well, most CPUs are calibrated to tolerate 100 degrees C, but browsing the web without too many other applications running in the background should keep it much lower, I'd imagine somewhere in 55-70 range.

100 degrees C ..wow that's pretty high.
I'm floating between 50-59 degrees.I was curious because I'm experimenting with linux on this old beast and I did not want to fry anything.I do notice that XP does seem to run cooler though -rarely above 50 degrees.
Nice sig by the way -Paypal is pretty lame.

Linux will run hotter on most machines, but there are ways about it, I suggest that you do a search in the Linux section of the forum on the applicable solutions.
Personally, I'd be quite happy with the temperatures that you're reporting.
What distro are you running, BTW?
