The result was instant powerdown and a wiff of the blue magical smoke escaping from the cracks near the power inlet.
The polarity on the 3com power source was right, and it measured 15.67 Volts on a multimeter.
The info on the 3com is: Input 220-230V @ 50-60Hz 0.1A
Output DC 12V 1000mA.
The laptop won't power up and is inert.
I'll do autopsy as soon as i get some sleep first, just thought that you guy's could give me some clues what to expect.
