strange problem with my T23

when I boot it up everything seems to load but nothing works. The wallpaper loads, I can scroll my mouse around the desktop but can't click on anything to open it. Programs won't run. The worklight at the top of the LCD turns on and off but that is it. Any suggestions? Booted into safe mode but can't seem to find the problem.

It seems as if explorer.exe is hanging after bootup ... you can try this: after your machine boots, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and run task manager and kill explorer.exe. Then go to File-->New Task and enter explorer.exe to restart it.

Once your machine boots, go to system log (control panel--> adminstrative tools-->event viewer) and see if there are any error messages.

I tried cnt alt delete and nothing happens

Does XP run properly in safe mode? Also, what's the model for your UB2000 DVD/RW and where did you get it?
