FAX program for T30

#1 Post by Dave_s » Mon Feb 04, 2008 1:05 am

I am running WIN XP PRO on t30 with 1 GB RAM. My attempts to use various versions of WINFAX PRO fail to work.

What software are T30 users using with the built in FAX/data modem?

Many thanks, Dave_S

I don't have the answer you are looking for. But several years ago the HP Pavilion desktop I bought, came with a application called Sycro Connect that was a great telephone answering machine, fax application, that I got used to using. I've never found anything that I have liked as well since. Especially the fact that it would keep a log of incoming calls using caller ID info, whether the caller left a message or hung up before the machine answered. So, I too, would like to know about a modern app that would do those same things.

As stated before, I want and need FAX software to use with the built in modem in my T30 Laptops. What FAX software works with WIN XP PRO on any T30, T40 and other T-? series Thinkpad Laptops?

Many thanks for any hints. Dave_s

Mighty Fax does what you want. I have been using that for years on both internal and external modems, on my A22e, T23, T30 and now T41 as well as on a NetVista with a modem card and a PC300PL with an external modem. It won't do group faxing - otherwise it is cheap and bomb-proof. ... JDH

For those who don't have a faxmodem, try Efax

Doesn't Windows XP have it's own Fax software ?
It's just not installed by default.

Once it is installed, I thought you could get to it through
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Communications

I think it was part of Word in Office 97 and possibly Office 2000.

Absolutely, and it works well. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306550 for more info.
