T23 Lcd screen upgrade.........

#1 Post by Gothic » Fri Feb 15, 2008 5:39 pm

Can anyone advise if it is possible to upgrade a Lcd screen on my T23 to a R40e screen which is working with no issues?.

Reason for this upgrade is i believe i have some dead pixels which result in two lines going down the screen from top to bottom about 2" in from the left and right hand sides, am i right in assuming this is a pixel issue?.

Appreciate any help.

Never put off for tomorrow what you can do today, as tomorrow never comes.

I'm pretty sure the screen isn't compatible, you would need to buy one made for a 14.1" T2x, A2x, or A3x.

As for the problem, it could be the LCD, LCD cable, or video chip. You can try connecting the laptop to an external monitor. If you get a perfect display on that, it means your video chip is fine.

Do the lines change or move when you move the screen back and forth? If so, this could point to the LCD cable. You can also try reseating the LCD cable to the motherboard and the LCD panel.
