Can you trust Battery MaxiMiser?

#1 Post by lemmerdeur » Wed Feb 20, 2008 10:49 pm

I just switched my battery in my T30 with an old bad battery I had. When I checked, the batteryMaxiMiser tells me that that battery is in good condition , that it was manufactured on 03/14/2003 (same date as my other battery) and first used in 02/2008??? It was used for at least 2 years!!! How can we trust that program???? :(

Can you find a comparable program? What is the cycle count on the newer battery?

You might need to reboot with the battery in place a few times, because it isn't a perfect system, and a little bit to refresh.

Battery Maximiser relies on the information given by the battery. There is a small chip in the battery that gives cycle count and all of that other information. You need to do a full cycle or two for that chip to update with the latest stats on your battery. Simply run the battery until its dead and them recharge overnight. Once should do it, but if the battery has not been used in a while, you may need to run the process twice to refresh the battery.
