CD drive won't recognize burned cds
My T30 has a CD/RW-DVD drive and it won't recognize any burned CD that I made with a Creative drive and software with my PC. When I place the CD in my t30 drive, I go to my computer, cd drive and open and it ask me to insert a CD or it tells me that it can't be read with windows. When I put the same CD in my PC in the creative CDRW drive, there isn't any problem. Could it be a problem with the way I burned the CD with the creative drive and program or is it a problem with the CD or the drives? I tried the CD in different drive from other PCs and some recognize it but most don't.

have read that older drives like those found in the thinkpad 600 don't like user burned CDs but since you say the CD doesn't work in most PCs you try it in i'd say your burner, burning software or brand of CD are to blame.
maybe start by trying a different brand of blank CD and if that doesn't work then try different software.
i'm using the very simple and free cdburnatonce with no problems whatsoever.

I am not familiar with the Creative Software, but I have heard that sometimes older drives have a problem with reading disks that were burned at too high of a speed. Now, since your drive is a CDRW, it should be new enough to read it regardless. There might be a setting that you can adjust on your PC drive, to burn at a lower speed. Try that and see if it makes a difference.
Another issue that I have run into first hand is that sometimes the writing software is not finalizing the CD that is being written. It is being left open to be able to add more to the CD. Check your settings for burning to make sure that it is being finalized.
