Re:T21

I have been given this T21, the screen goes white when it boots, does that mean there is a problem with the controller? Is that on the main-board? I would like to fix it. It might even be the tape connector or so the previous owner says. Will the screen from my 570e fit? It looks the same.
I have incorporated a company called linuxcomputersolutions Ltd (Number 6376832). Any computers that go through my hands get Mandriva-Linux fitted. I own a A20m 500MHz, 320Mb, 40Gb and a 800MHz T21 that has 384Mb SDRAM Without a HD or a working screen

I am not sure if they are compatible, but wouldn't be suprised if they were.

I would recommend checking the cable on the back of the LCD, like the previous owner suggested. I have seen this problem in the past with a T2x and a Compaq Armada 7400.

The 570E came with a 13.3" LCD. The T21 has a 14." Don't know about whether the cables are compatible though...

The 570 series had weak LCD cables and many would display a white screen which could be fixed temporarily by rebooting, opening and closing the lid, and/or tapping the lid. As tfflivemb2 suggested, check the cable.

As did some early T22s and T23s (I have a 13.3" T23 - 2647-6KU; no surprise, huh?). The T2x Hardware Maintenance Manual says that they all have the same LG panel and cable.

I didn't know that. Thought that only the T20 had that option. I guess you really do learn something new everyday. :)

As the 570e works, I wouldn't ever consider using that screen. Because if I use parts from a working machine, I always end up with egg on my face and two machines that don't work!
