T30 LCD distorts.

I tryed to search for my problem, but couldn't find anything. Now the lCD screen distorts after it has been on for awhile. Does this quicker when the adaptor is pluged in. I have use two different adaptors. Nothing happens when I outputing to a extrernal LCD monitor. I played a game for two hours with no distortion on a external LCD. With the adaptor plug in.
So I turned down the brightness on the screen and it seens to not start as soon. With this in mind I am seeing the faster the LCD heats up the sooner it goes bad.
With all the above could I be looking at a LCD replacement????Thanks!

With a distortion like that I wouldn't think so, but I'd take the initial assumption of a bad motherboard. Even so, it also could be inverter of screen. If you feel comfortable taking apart your LCD and running the system (only if you are comfortable, this is not an easy or safe undertaking,) you can check to see if the inverter of LCD is heating up. Leave it on until you have the distortions, and then unplug and remove the battery(ies) from the system and check both the inverter and the top of the LCD for an excess amount of heat.

Well after testing more I have found out it is the motherboard. I did not relise that the display would be ok on a external LCD. I now have a thickly folded piece of paper under the keyboard, putting pressure on the video chip. Also a new motherboard on the way with a faster CPU. I just hope I don't get mad and punch the keyboard to hard while I am waiting for it ...
