T30: How to update Embedded Controller without battery?

#1 Post by renhui » Sun Apr 06, 2008 11:03 pm

I recently got a T30 with a dead battery. I've successfully upgraded the BIOS to the latest version (2.10) using the method depicted http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=1363 , however I have trouble updating the embedded controller program though, I typed the command and it immediately brought me back to the prompt.
Any idea?
thanks a lot.

Nevermind, guys. I figured it out myself.
Just let system update pick up the latest embedded controller program and it'll automatically update it (in DOS) without complaining battery charge level. :)
2.10 and 1.07
