replace T30 internal USB 1.1?

#1 Post by AEN007 » Fri Apr 11, 2008 12:12 pm

11Apr2008
Greetings.
I have a T30 with the two internal USB 1.1 ports.
I purchased a PCMCIA/USB card.
That works fine, but I still wonder/would like to know
if/how one might swap out the internal USB 1.1 ports
for internal USB 2.0 ports?
Anyone have any experience or knowledge about this?
Any insights appreciated.
Thanks.
Regards,

Nope. The usb capability is built into the chipset. It has nothing to do with with the actual physical ports.

The only way (which I wanted to try, but my t30 died) is to build a PCMCIA card into the laptop. Then take out the old ports and wire new ports, connected only to the PCMCIA card, into the slots. Not advisable for anyone without experiance, but would be a good project...
