Greetings.
Latest question »
Is there any way (prefabricated or after-market) -
other than shutting down, accessing the BIOS
& rebooting - to adjust the T30 screen brightness?
Both of my other laptops have prefabricated options.
If IBM did not consider such an option cost effecient,
is there some freeware utility to do this?
Any insights appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello AEN007-- Can I assume by prefabricated you are referring to the FN+HOME/FN+END keys? Perhaps the backlight on your T30 has failed in which case you'll need to replace the inverter; something which I've learned from this forum is common. If you haven't already-- search the forum for info on the "LCD Backlight"; at the very least you'll find the correct name for the FRU which I have forgottenIs there any way (prefabricated or after-market) other than shutting down, accessing the BIOS & rebooting - to adjust the T30 screen brightness?

To begin with, press F1 to enter BIOS while booting, go into "config", choose "Display" and set the brightness on "high", press F10 to save and restart.
With LCD set on high, you'll get the most control out of using Fn/end keys to adjust brightness.
