T30 Wireless Card Replacment ISSUES

#1 Post by furiousmonkey » Sat May 10, 2008 10:39 am

I just tried to replace my Wireless Card.

The BIOS came up with an error, saying NON IBM wireless card present!

How do you get around that?

Thanks

There's a way to patch the BIOS. Do a forum search for 'no-1802'. The success of that patch is dependent on exactly what card you have. Not all BIOS's can be patched to work with all cards. Also you could get a genuine IBM part that is compatible with a T30. I just put one in my T30 with no errors - Part # 93P3475.

I downloaded the BOOTABLE LINUX cd.

Ran it.

Patched it.

Installed the intel wireless card.

It booted to windows!!!

Loaded the drivers.

And it works!!!
