T23 14.1 sxga+ 1400x1050 backlight-swap-for-dummies???

#1 Post by drewc » Thu May 29, 2008 5:50 pm

Subj says it all... Backlight's completely dead, ruled out all other possibilities. My wife's nixed the $150 repair option a fine forum member offers, and I'm a complete noob, a klutz, with super-technical repairs. I've never soldered anything in my life before.

Can someone who's done the same LCD surgery with this same model post a step-by-step walkthru? Would be greatly appreciated....

Thank you!

drew

They got all the info.

But I wouldn't recommend a DIY job if you have two left hands, like you claim

Welcome to the forum!

Sell the machine in its present state and save yourself a lot of grief...

I know how to replace a backlight and I've done it, could repeat it if you had a machine gun pointed at my kids...

James (jamiphar) does that for me these days, and I prefer paying in USD than in my own aggravation and loss of sleep...

My $0.02 only...
