T21 fan problem !!!

#1 Post by jm350 » Sat Jun 14, 2008 1:42 pm

Hello everyone, :D

I'm new here and i didn't notice if there's another post about this.

When my T21 start booting i see the fan going for about 2 or 3 rotations ....and stop. Is that fan controled by a kind of thermostat or it's suposed to turn continoustly until i shutoff the machine ???

And if the fan as a kind of thermostatic control, at which temperatures she will go on ....and off ??

Thanks !!

P.S. Sorry if my english is not perfect....i'm a french canadian !!

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

The fan is thermostatically controlled and spins up for a few seconds at boot. It should start spinning again when the CPU reaches a high enough temperature (~50 to 55c I'd say).

Also, the forum policies generally do not allow images in signature lines. Some exceptions have been made; usually for long-time members AND if the image is small (~5-10KB).
