Suddenly, my T30 2366 85U has lost sound. Control Panel/ Sounds and Audio Devices shows 'no sound device'. Testing sounds is greyed out. I suspect I have a broken audio driver.
Am running WIN XP PRO and have a full XP PRO CD. Also have a 4 CD set called RECOVERY. I have never been able to retrieve drivers from the RECOVERY CDs. Every time I use the RECOVERY CDs the whole WINDOWS XP is rebuilt. I'd rather avoid full reinstall.
Is there a way to obtain the needed driver from my RECOVERY CDs? Is the needed driver on XP CDs?
Can I obtain the needed driver from LEVONO? URL please.
IF not a new driver, what else should I do to restore sound?
Thank you, Dave_s

Go to 'my computer' right click, properties, hardware, device manger. Highlight soundmax, right click uninstall, once it is uninstalled reboot the computer, the new hardware found will run and the drivers should reinstall... It's pretty common on the soundmax for some reason, I've had 4 desktop dells do the same thing over the past 2 weeks. That should fix it..
I alway try to go that extra mile at work, problem is the boss always finds me and brings me back
