0210 Key Stuck Error?

#1 Post by Peter_Peril » Mon Jun 16, 2008 3:33 pm

My T30 recently developed this error after coming out of hibernation. I temporarily resolve it by entering the Bios and restarting. The boot up is delayed for an indeterminate amount of time after which Windows loads normally.

My search of forum topics has proved fruitless. Anybody seen this one before?

Saw your complaint in another post.
Apparently nobody has your problem. This would strongly indicate, that perhaps your keyboard is at fault.
Try reseating it, and run PC Doctor to test all the keys.
Alternatively, stop using hibernation

My semi-sarcastic bump was not truly a complaint; but thanks for your reply none-the-less. I found plenty of references to the problem outside of the forums and have a better idea as to how it developed. I hibernate my system out of necessity though--as a normal cold-boot takes 15 to 20 tries to get started.

You should look at the boot problem first, before you try and fix other things, that may be caused by it.
Bad booting could be caused by a bad HD-connector or a bad HD itself.
If Windows causes the problem, a re-install over your existing setup may sort it. You won't lose your pgm settings that way.

Does the 210 error also include a stuck key scan code? The scan codes can be found here, among other places.

Egads man!... why did you have to mention the HD! I was preparing to reply to you and Davemci when got back from lunch. Seems like the minute I sat down-- I got a BSOD relating to an Inpage kernel stack error. Then I rebooted into the dreaded disk read error

Strangely enough... I just brought a Seagate 160 GB 5400 HDD for my wifes' HP lappie. The bad news is that unlike her system mine doesn't have any recovery discs

I had planned on replying that I believed the Stuck Key Error was the result of enabling Function Key Lock in the bios. Well as I recently stated in another post..." There's always something" :x
