T22 internal WIFI
I bought a cheap t23 (2647-4NU) parts machine off eBay because this model came with WIFI. I wanted the lid so I can add internal wifi to my T22 (2647-9EU). Would you believe not a single useful part on this laptop. It was obviously made up from the parts of several broken and defective T23s. Anyway, my question is; did all the T23s lids come with a provision for an Antenna? You know the little windows on the side of the lid..
Also, will the T22 support the 1.13GHZ CPU that came on this T23? event though I doubt it is any good. My T22 is 1GHZ so this isn't that much of an improvement. Will it support the 1.2 GHZ CPU?

But my antenna's are in the wrong place and work fine
The FSB on the T22 is 100 (PC100) the T23 bumps that up to 133 (PC133).
It might run, but it would be slower than the 1.0 gig you already have.

Very few T23s came with built-in wifi. They are quite sought after.
The top-model is a T23 with wifi, 1.2GHz CPU and SXGA+ LCD.
These are almost as rare as hen's teeth (and I got 2 of those

I have the right lid and the antenna's are there, but the lid has a chunk broken out of it and is scratched really bad. I was just curious if all T23s lids were cast the same. My T22 has SXGA. My intent was to get a T23 lid with antennas and use my LCD. I would have been all set if the one I got off eBay wasn't such trash.

I would salvage the antennas and the wifi screen surround/bezel too if its undamaged. These would be useful spares to have if you ever get hold of a wifi T23.
The complete screen would fit onto your T22 BTW.

Where to begin......
390e x1 390X 390X,700mhz
1 x T20 + about 8 untested for spares
4 X T23 + 6 breaking for parts
1 X T23 with Samsung 840 SSD and XP Great combination !
AND NOW....3 X T60s and 3 x T61s

It's almost impossible to get a T23 wifi lid (I know of only one somewhere in Canada for ca. $65.-) or a wifi bezel (none found).
If you are handy with an Xacto knife you might just be able to get a normal T23 lid and make the cutouts for the wifi-stripes, and transfer them, but there are a few caveats.
The wifi bezel does not quite fit in a non-wifi lid without modification: you need to cut off some bits in the upper part of the inside sides of the bezel.
The wifi hinges are different from the non-wifi hinges, and I'm not sure if they 'slot' in properly in a non-wifi-lid.
However, a non-wifi lid is cheap, so you could probably afford to screw one up if you don't get it right the first time.

The wireless lid is slightly larger and the right hinge cut out area has a small round lip that fits into the hinge cover. This is often easier to see in a photograph. It seems IBM originally plan to route the antennae leads thru the right hinge instead of the left hinge.
All three of my T23s have these wireless lids fitted. They were being replaced by newer models until a T40 failed. Then I had to press a T23 back into service.
The T22 case bottom and KB bezels are different from T23. The T23 has a larger DC door to accommodate a miniPCI plus a CDC. The CPU socket and fan design are different. The T23 Tualatin CPUs run cooler than the 900M/1Ghz Coppermines used in T22.
