2 odd T23's

Auto update loaded a new mouse driver a few weeks ago, never thought much about it but until windows starts the mouse will not work.On the log on screen, it doesnt budge until after I enter my password, and then not really until most of the icons load.
Heres the really weird part: I loaded Roxio 9 and now on the log on page I need to hit "Tab" to get the log on box to appear
OR
Power on, wait a moment, (no log on box appears regardless of how long you wait) "Tab" 1 time opens the box, space bar or other keys makes no difference.

Picked up a used Teac OEM 24X CD-ROM. One of my T23's saw it, loaded the driver and everything is fine. The other...Good luck, refuses to find the driver, refuses to load, gives the Yellow Exclaim mark and generally has been a pain.

Any ideas on either?
