T23/P3/512mb - IE7 display problems

I have a T23 ThinkPad and I just upgrade the system to WinXP sp2 and IE7. I noticed the background on the web pages is not displaying. I have also installed Safria from Apple and it works just fine, but when I installed the Firefox 3 it also had the same problem as IE7. The graphic card is the S3 Super Savage chip and it does have the newest driver. I have looked at all the settings and can't find what could be causing the problem.

I guess the issue is software related (and not hardware) since Safari works properly. Do you have any other software installed that blocks ads etc? Do you use access connections?

And what do you exactly mean by 'background' not displaying? Are you seeing a white bakcground for any website you visit? Do pages with CSS display without CSS? For example, this forum should so a blue/gray theme for background color - do you see this form entirely with a white background? Please post a screenshot of the issue with IE7/Firefox so that we can understand what is happening clearly.
