How to disable tap feature on the touchpad

On a T30, can I disable tapping on the touchpad, so I don't get things opening sporadically on my desktop? For another type of Thinkpad, I saw a reference to "UltraNav Wizard" to disable the tap zones. This has to be a semi-permanent fix (like in BIOS or something), as I sometimes run Linux and I haven't seen any control panels for this in Linux. Thanks.
