T23 driver help at initial Windows 2000 installation

#1 Post by mozartpc27 » Mon Aug 11, 2008 9:53 pm

So, my Thinkpad T20 died (or at least its hard drive did) and rather than tinker with it I bought a used T23 off of ebay. When I installed Windows 2000, however, it did not recognize the ethernet port in the back of the computer. I tried going to Lenovo's web site and making a CD of every driver labelled "ethernet" under T23 downloads and hoping that one of them would work, but no luck. Anyone have any idea what the stock ethernet controller is in a T23, or what driver I can use? I can't get anything done with this computer until I get it online, and it's not allowing the installation CD of my wireless card to load (I suspect because it outstrips the video and audio abilities of the un-service-packed Windows 2000 installation that I currently have)!

Should be one of these: W2K networking drivers

Make sure there is a networking card in the T23!
That's different from a T20/21/22 where the modem and NIC are combined.
A t23 has a separate NIC and either a modem or a wifi card.

But you can use the combo card from a T20/21/22 in a T23.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
