Will the T23 accept PC133 1 gig memory modules?

#1 Post by olex126 » Fri Sep 05, 2008 7:18 am

That is, can I run 2 gig memory in a T23, or is the 2 x 512 configuration the most that is recognized?

Thanks. Regards. Dave

That won't work.
Max RAM is 2x 512MB.

Where have you seen 1GB PC133 modules for a laptop to begin with?

Oops! My mistake.. the one's I saw were straight SDRAM, not SODIMM.

Anyway, just checking that the maximum ram was 1gb.. I inherited 2 of the T23 models, each with 512 mb. The Lenovo site also says max 1gb, but then they say that for my X31 and A31p, and they're both now at 2 gb each.

Thanks again.

Well, yes, because PC2100/2700 is available in 1GB DIMMs while PC133 is not, at least to the best of my knowledge.

The only reason why A31 (and all the other machines in the bunch: R40, T30, X31...) were spec'd at 1GB maximum was the fact that at the time of their announcement the largest single DIMM was 512MB...
