T30 battery.... which is the right Part Number....???

#1 Post by Alejandro Audisio » Wed Oct 01, 2008 11:38 am

My T30 battery reads two PNs... I read

P/N 02K7037

but also there is FRU P/N 02K7033

So... which one do I need to get? Is there any specs. difference between these parts...? Is there a brand of ¨generic¨ laptop battery that would be able to replace my original li-ion battery?

Thanks.

Both numbers are valid. You can look for either one (e.g. on eBay).
The first is the IBM Part Number
The second (FRU) is the Field Replacement Unit number, an indication that the part can be replaced by the customer instead of sending it in.

If you buy on eBay, check the feedback of the seller, and see if anyone had problems or not.
Original IBM batteries tend to be more expensive.
Other batteries are cheaper, but not all of them are that good.

There are two FRUs for T30 batteries: 02K7072 as well as 02K7033. Either one will work.
