t23 wireless mini pci question

#1 Post by Islandguy » Wed Nov 12, 2008 9:09 pm

I purchased a T23 from George (ajkula66) and I must say it is a pristine T23...very nice indeed! Thanks George!
George included an Intel b/g card and when I went to install it I notice the wireless B card is "jumpered" to another card...is that the modem? Do I just disc the modem card and install the b/g?
Thanks for your help!

Ok so it looks like it is the ethernet daughter card....so...do I need a different wireless mini pci card?
Thanks,
Jim

In that space there is room for 2 cards.
The narrow one with 2 screws is the NIC (networking) card.
The larger one can be either a modem card, a wifi card, or a wifi/modem combo card made by Actiontec.
This last one has connections for both Main/Aux antennas for wifi and the modem.
The included card for wifi b/g does NOT have a modem, so just leave that connector loose. Make sure it does not get caught in the CPU fan!

RBS,
Yes thanks got it working...digging a bit deeper I was able to install without any issue and yes...I see where the loose lead could get jammed up in the fan.
Thanks for the message!
