T20 hard drive replace with one from R51 and won't boot

#1 Post by cbuck1 » Wed Nov 19, 2008 8:54 pm

I had the HD crash in my T20, so I replaced it with the one from an old R51 and it won't reboot. I'd like to reformat the disk and load Win 2K, but I have no floppy and no bootable Win 2K CD. I've got an old T20 recovery disk that says it's bootable, but when I put it in the drive and try to boot, I get a message that says there is no CD drive. But the drive is working because when I put in my Ultimate Boot CD, it works. What can I do to get this thing working again?

Thanks,

Craig

Move the Ultrabay CD drive boot order up higher or use an external USB CD drive.

I've already done that. It accesses and boots from my Ultraboot CD, but when I try to use my rescue CD, it can't find the drive. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that it's a Win 2K rescue disk but the drive has Win XP on it.
