T23 Wireless Radio On/Off switch

#1 Post by selvan777 » Sat Nov 29, 2008 2:10 pm

I see that I can turn the wireless radio on and off with Access Connections but is there a way of doing it without installing Access Connections? I really have no use of it other than the radio switch.

Thanks.

I would say that most wireless cards come with their own configuration utilities that allow you to turn them on or off. If you are talking about the factory Actiontec card then I'm not sure if there's any way to do that with just the Windows wireless utility. I change out most of those Actiontec modem/wireless combo cards in favor of a Broadcom b/g version and install a Belkin configuration utility to control the wireless setup. I'll see if I can find a T23 with the factory card still in it...

It is the factory Actiontec card.

Thanks but no need to find that T23 and a factory card because I found where the radio switch is.

Device Manager
Properties of the card
Tab to "Status"

There is a button there to Disable/Enable Radio. Note that it's only there when the card is enabled.
