Alternatives to Windows XP Scandisk??

#1 Post by robert213 » Fri Dec 19, 2008 3:08 pm

I am still in the process of moving out of the Windows 98 SE world.

One by one, I have been learning the tools of the Windows XP world. For example, I use Acronis True Image Home 11 instead of Norton Ghost 2003.

I don't like Windows XP's Scandisk...
[Control Panel][Performance Maintenance][Administrative Tools][Computer Management]"Disk Management"
Right Click [Properties][Tools]"Error Checking"

I miss DOS Scandisk. It has a large display showing sector by sector progress. Also, I miss the "B" indicating a bad sector from a previous scan or format command.

Are there any other alternatives to Win XP Scandisk?
