T30 Screen

#1 Post by thinkxplx » Wed Dec 24, 2008 5:01 pm

I was installing XP using my T30 recovery disks onto my new hard drive, when the english instructions started appearing in a different language (??). After a while the screen started displaying strange graphics. Whats happened to my screen?

Hard to say without pictures.
What language did it change to?

I am not sure, it started off in English and then the characters changed to something else. Now all I get is a screen with weird graphics . I am not able to see the regular screen.

Your T30's board has gone south. I own an A30 with exact same symptoms.

Start looking for a new planar.

Is it possible to replace the board? If so where can I buy it and how much would it cost?

Planar is IBM-speak for a motherboard.

Post a WTB ad in the forum's marketplace and someone will come to the rescue for sure.

Good luck.
