FYI discussion - T30 1.8GHz downclocks with port replicator

I would like to keep wear and tear to a minimum on my keyboard and touchpad, so I finally got around to using my port replicator.

Last night, my machine seemed a bit sluggish, so I [START][Control Panel][Performance Maintenance][System] and saw that my T30's 1.8GHZ CPU was running at 1.19GHz.

I shutdown machine, removed from port replicator, and restarted. CPU was back at 1.80GHz.

I shutdown machine, removed mid-1990's mouse from port replicator, reattached T30 with port replicator, and restarted. CPU is still at 1.8GHz.

I would guess that the mouse from my old Packard Bell desktop caused my T30's CPU to downclock.

I will another mouse from a late 90's desktop later.

I am now using mouse - Logitech for TOSHIBA (late 90's Win98 Desktop) without any problems.
