T30 bios version 2.10 supports IBM 11bg wireless card.
T30 bios version 2.10 supports IBM 11bg wireless card.
Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere on the forum. Looks like they added a wireless G card to the whitelist with release of latest bios. Any info on what FRU this card is? Searching vendors on Ebay, Thinkwiki, and a few hints on other threads, I'm guessing FRU 91P7416/93P3475, a Ambit Atheros AR5004G card. Sure would be nice to ditch the NO-1802/Intel 2200 cards I have have in 3 T-30's for authorized cards. Just ordered 2 of these cards on Ebay and the vendor states they support 108mps Super G with a software change. Will update if they work with or without errors. Anyone have further info about what "G" cards 2.10 supports?

Welcome to the forum!
As far as I know, none. Just sold a T30 with 2.10 BIOS...and haven't noticed any enhanced wireless support.

Concerning my post, finally found time and installed cards. They work perfect with no errors. No onboard Plug+Play drivers in Xp or found on MS Update, so used drivers supplied by vendor. They work as well as the unauthorized Intel 2200 B/G cards on my secure 54Mps wireless G Linksys home network. Worked perfect with no delays receiving streaming video. Would be interesting to rollback to Bios 2.09 and see if they still work but no time to test. Reason I wanted authorized G card was Bios volatility issues(ie. losing the 1802 bit flip, losing date/time, blue screening delay of the time box). Found these problems due to old Bios battery, junk new battery with glue on wiring solder tab and crap pigtail, Radio Shack "danack" battery somewhat better but still glue on tabs and short pigtail. Modifying a PC mount CR2032 coin cell holder and using IBM OEM pigtail has resulted in rock solid Bios with no volatility. Still using unathorized Intel 2200/NO-1802.COM with the modified coin cell holder in this T30 that spends its days bouncing down the nations highways in a 18 wheeler. But when it comes to the wifes 2 T30's, they had better work right each and every time(you get the picture!). So she gets authorized G cards and the Bios battery coin cell holders! Also, no time to test if they do support Super G or source for most current drivers. Will update. Anyone have a source for fresh OEM welded tab bios batteries? I've looked with no success.

Sure enough! Picture shows welded tabs and IBM part #. Going to order some of these and give them a try. Hope they have better pigtail connecters/crimps than the other Panasonic/China batteries I bought on EBay. Thankyou RBS!RealBlackStuff wrote:On eBay for $3.29 with free shipping

Ordered 4 of those Bios batteries, have had them installed now for 3 days in 4 T30's with no issues. They are the real deal!

I've just installed the same card (FRU 93P3475) on a T30 (2366-W1X / BIOS 2.10) with drivers downloaded from this page:sncdrvr wrote:Concerning my post, finally found time and installed cards. Excellent! Glad the cards working for you. I'm now running 91P7416 or 93P3475 cards in my T30"s. I use Windows to manage my wireless. I install the card, download the T40 Wireless LAN installation program, but dont run it because it caused a problem on one of my machines. I save it in Documents, unzip it until I get to the XP drivers. Then I go to Device Manager, where the cards listed as a "ethernet controller", and I manually install the driver, then delete the T40 program from Documents. Before I can get the T40 program deleted Windows opens the "Wireless Networks Found" notice.
Re: T30 bios version 2.10 supports IBM 11bg wireless card.
System Update now supports the IBM/Ambit/Atheros wireless G cards with drivers for the T30. I just reinstalled XP and all MS updates on a new untouched hard drive on a 2.4 Ghz T30 and then downloaded and ran System Update via ethernet. The wireless driver was automatically downloaded and installed in one of the packages I selected. Wish I had been paying better attention to which package, but I just select them all for download and install (except Access Connections) and walk away until its finished. First, Bios 2.10 supports authorized wireless G cards, and now System Update provides automatic driver install!!! Thankyou Lenovo!
