- battery LED flashed quickly during the power on, which is normal for the T23 but for the rest of the time the LED would remain dark
- 0190 critical low-battery error and then shut down
- When on AC, no battery is detected under Windows XP battery maximiser software. No charging, no discharging, nothing at all.. blank!
- battery is not being charged
- however, when unplug AC after booting into Windows it would just continue to run on battery although it doesn't recognise the battery!
- update bios is not possible because no battery detected (required and has to be confirmed before update)
I have been reading
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... r&start=30
and
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=63193
but I think both cases are not exactly the same as mine (I have learned a great deal though and will try some advices soon).
In my previous post (http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... or#p493250) I checked the ADP3806 (battery charger IC) and I found out from the datasheet that the first pin is the VCC and I checked it with my voltmeter and it showed 16V which is ok I guess. But the datasheet indicates pin8 (REG) 6V and pin9 (REF) 2.5V but my measurements were just 0V from both pins.
My guess is that the ADP3806 is broken but I'm not sure about it yet. From my previous post Ray suggest me to check the circuit around the ADP3806 for some possible malfunction parts. I have already checked the top and the under side around that area and also all the inductors on the motherboard and so far I found nothing suspicious.
I looked for T23 thread with this problem but didn't find anything (yet).
That's why I post my message here
I hope someone with similar or same problem can give me some advices here. We all know how great T23 is and it would be nice to have some more solutions about its problems on this wonderful forum
