ACPI Hot Keys
How do I go about obtaining the correct ACPI driver for a T21 2647-4AG?
I have already been to Lenovo Support & Downloads for the most common driver matrix & installed what should be the correct version. The laptop has had a system board changed, so not sure whether that affects things.
When pressing the blue "Fn" key & "F7" it should blank the screen, but actually restarts computer?!?

Re: ACPI Hot Keys
I have the latest driver version (1.52) and the Fn+F7 keys correctly toggles the display between the LCD and an external monitor. It doesn't reboot.
This is the version I have: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... IGR-4gxpeg
Also make sure you have the latest BIOS (1.16) and imbedded controller versions (1.06) from here:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... IGR-4Q2KM5
Do you know the FRU number of the replacement system board? The system board in my T21 is also a replacement but works properly.
EDIT: there is also an old discussion here that involves the Presentation Director and the Hotkey drivers that may help: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 04&start=0

Re: ACPI Hot Keys
He does actually have Intel combo card.
"Attention: for users with the Intel/Xircom Mini PCI combo cards:
BIOS version 1.04 - KZET22WW and newer will only work with Intel Boot Agent(IBA) 4.0 or later for Wake On Lan (WOL) based remote installations. If you plan to do remote installations with IBA versions prior to 4.0, then you must use a BIOS version prior to version 1.04. Failure to do so may cause the ThinkPad system to hang."
If I'm not using WOL, need I worry?
Also out of interest how do I update the boot agent? I understand you boot the system with the Intel(R) Boot Agent diskette. But how do I create such? I have updated BIOS before but never the boot agent.
Also I don't think I've installed the Hot Key driver, what device under Device Manager does this install under?
Thanks.

Re: ACPI Hot Keys
Ignore the WOL remark, does not apply to you.
Never done an Intel Boot Agent update. Never done a boot using Intel Boot Agent either.
Actually I don't know anybody who has done that!
As to the hotkey driver, just download it and double click on it.
It unpacks itself probably into some IBMTOOLS or DRIVERS subdirectory. Find that, then click in the install.exe
It does not show up under any device.

Re: ACPI Hot Keys
I have yet to check the BIOS version but have correct ACPI driver & have installed hotkey driver but "Fn & F7" still restarts computer? Strange, not exactly a function that my mate will use tho so it can be lived with.
