About a month ago started getting a dark screen( could barely read the screen) . If I moved the lcd screen from open to close several times the lcd screen would finally get brighter.
About a month later I can only barely see the lcd screen no matter how much I open and close the lcd.
Anyone have an Idea on what the issue could be.
Thanks in advance.

Re: T22 Dark screen
Sounds like you are losing (or lost) the backlight; aka, CCFL. There can be several reasons for this:
- the backlight has finally burned out
- the inverter board, which provides the high voltage needed to light the backlight, is not working
- broken trace(s) in the LCD ribbon cable
- loose connector; where the LCD ribbon cable plugs into the motherboard, where the inverter plugs into the cable or where the backlight plugs into the inverter
- defective (i.e., stuck) lid switch; if it's depressed it will cut the power to the backlight (and normally puts the system into standby, hibernate or shutdown but that's typically controlled by the operating system)
- loss of power on the motherboard which supplies power to the inverter
Given that you could move the screen around before and "fix" the problem, I'd guess that you either have a loose connection or that the LCD ribbon cable is busted. Use the Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM) for the T2x system to get at the LCD ribbon cable and inverter and re-seat both of those pieces and inspect the ribbon cable for kinks or cuts. The HMM is here:

Re: T22 Dark screen
Thanks rkawakami for the great informative post. As soon as I get a chance I will look at the info you provided and get to work on it. Unfortunetly I cannot afford a new laptop so I have to fix this old one. I will post back my findings.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
