Lid swapping

#1 Post by newyorkpaulie » Tue May 05, 2009 5:17 pm

I got another lid (on ebaY) for my T23 that I may use as a replacement. My present LCD screen has some horizontal lines. Is it possible to simply unplug my old one and plug in the new one just to test it (powered down first of course)? If the "new" one is better, I would then go through the actual permanent replacement. I know how I can get at the connections to do this swap/test, but I wanted to know if I am not seeing any problems/precautions doing this.

I don't see any gotchas in this test scenario unless the LCD is not from another T23. Otherwise if it is the entire assembly you should be good to test it. It gets dicey if you start swaping individual parts... .e.g. LCD panels and cables. Inverters are the same for every T23.

I dismantled the lid from a bought-for-parts T23 so I am guessing it's the same.
